After eight days spent working with a suspended Westminister School student, Andrea Bye offered a final instruction to the girl as she stood up to return to her regular class. Bye, primary youth adviser with the YMCA’s Alternative Suspension program, pointed to the white sheet of paper that lay in front of the student as she’d participated in a “reintegration” meeting with her principal, her father and Bye at the start of the school day.
