Students
I’m suspended!!! And for the first time, they’re sending me to the Alternative Suspension program.
Why? Because something happened or the accumulation of many events at school and the school staff decided to enroll me in the Alternative Suspension program.
What is it? It’s a program for suspended students that helps ensure when they go back to school, that their return is a success.
What do we do in the program? School work, group workshops and individual meetings with a youth worker.
What’s the schedule like? It’s like your school schedule: from 8:30 in the morning to 3:00 in the afternoon, with breaks and an hour for lunch.
Will there be other students? Yes, students from other schools who have also been suspended. They are small groups of around six students.
When do I return to school? It all depends on what the school administrators have decided (generally after 3 to 5 days) and how your program participation is going.
What do I bring with me? Just like school: school material, lunch, and bus tickets as needed.
Where do I have to go? Click on the service sites link to find out how to get to the point of service location.
It’s normal to have questions about the time you’ll be spending in the Alternative Suspension program. So you can consult the Program section to learn more.
Upon your arrival in the Alternative Suspension program, a youth worker will take the time to meet with you and explain to you how your stay with us is going to go.
